Rico’s on 3rd hosts “Loving You Through it” in a private non-profit room. While going through my cancer journey, I recognized a need for beauty oncology services in the South Bay area. Loving You Through It provides complimentary services to women undergoing chemotherapy during cancer treatments. We are a wig bank and provide free wigs, head shaving, haircuts, wig trimming and scarves tutorials. Every client receives head scarves, a wig kit, turban or headband, make up and resource information. We have provided free services to hundreds of women and are continuing to grow. We have been recognized as a valued service in our community including Proclamation Day on November 15 from the National City Mayor, and recognized and honored by National City Police and Chula Vista Fire Departments.
We are so grateful for our many sponsors and donations. We could not do this without your support!
Loving You Through It has been a blessing to many women and families going through their cancer journey and the many difficulties it presents. To see these women go from brokenness to beautiful while loving them through it with dignity, compassion, and grace is what we strive for.
My name is Snooky Rico. I, along with my family run a salon called Rico’s on 3rd. As President of our company, I was in the trenches of this battle called breast cancer. Friends and family blessed me with a lot of support during that difficult time. All loved me through it with, dignity, compassion, and grace.
I knew firsthand that the cancer journey would not be an easy one, but I was determined to not let cancer define who I am. I am a Mother, a Wife, a Daughter, a Grandmother, a Sister, an Aunt, a Cousin, a Friend, a True Fighter, and lastly, a Survivor.
